Vàng tăng giá trong phiên giao dịch ngày thứ Sáu bất chấp đà tăng của đồng USD và lợi suất trái phiếu Mỹ khi nhà đầu tư an tâm trước khả năng Fed nâng lãi suất chậm hơn trong thời gian tới.

Giá vàng giao ngay tăng 0.36% lên 1,795.6329 USD/oz trong khi hợp đồng tương lai tại Mỹ tăng 0.37% lên 1,808.10 USD/oz.

“Dường như thị trường sẽ tập trung vào ‘ánh sáng cuối đường hầm’, chính là việc Fed đã hoàn tất việc nâng lãi suất và dựa trên cơ sở này chúng ta sẽ chứng kiến sự hỗ trợ dành cho giá vàng”, nhận định của David Meger, Giám đốc giao dịch kim loại tại High Ridge Future.

Đa phần các dự báo hiện tại đều cho thấy Fed sẽ nâng lãi suất thêm 50 điểm cơ bản khi cuộc họp cuối cùng của năm 2022 kết thúc vào ngày 14/12 sau hai ngày thảo thuận.

Việc nâng lãi suất để chống chọi với tình trạng lạm phát leo thang đang gia tăng chi phí cơ hội của việc nắm giữ vàng, kênh đầu tư vốn không có lợi suất.

Tâm lý‎ tích cực đối với giá vàng kéo dài trong bao lâu sẽ tùy thuộc vào mức độ nâng lãi suất của ngân hàng trung ương Mỹ và bài phát biểu của Chủ tịch Fed Jerome Powell tại cuộc họp báo, nhà phân tích Rupert Rowling tại Kinesis cho biết trong một báo cáo.

Tuy nhiên, số liệu cho thấy chỉ số giá sản xuất tại Mỹ tăng mạnh hơn dự báo trong tháng 11, qua đó gia tăng bất ổn của thị trường đối với triển vọng chính sách của Fed.

Sau khi nhận được số liệu này, đồng USD tăng 0.1%, khiến kim loại quý đắt đỏ hơn đối với các nhà đầu tư ngoại quốc, trong khi lợi suất trái phiếu kho bạc 10 năm của Mỹ cũng tăng.

Tâm điểm của thị trường giờ đây chuyển sang chỉ số giá tiêu dùng (CPI) dự kiến được công bố vào ngày 13/12.
