Trong tháng 11/2022, Việt Nam xuất khẩu 587,156 tấn, tăng 10.4% so với tháng trước, theo dữ liệu từ Tổng Cục Thống kê Việt Nam. Trong khi đó, trong 11 tháng đầu năm, sản lượng thép xuất khẩu của việt Nam giảm 37.8% so với cùng kỳ, xuống mức 6.46 triệu tấn.

Xét theo quốc gia, Việt Nam xuất khẩu thép tới Campuchia nhiều nhất trong 11 tháng đầu năm, kế đó là Italy (654,948 tấn) và Mỹ (623,515 tấn).

Đáng chú ý, sản lượng xuất khẩu tới Mỹ giảm mạnh gần 32% trong 11 tháng đầu năm, trong khi sản lượng tới Philippines giảm 42%. Ở chiều ngược lại, xuất khẩu sang Italy tăng 31%, Hàn Quốc tăng 35.6%.

CTCK VNDirect cho rằng hoạt động xuất khẩu thép của Việt Nam vẫn sẽ gặp nhiều khó khăn trong những tháng tới, trước khi tình hình được cải thiện trong nửa cuối năm 2023.

Theo VNDirect, trong tháng 10/2022, chỉ số đo lường tình trạng hoạt động kinh tế của ngành sản xuất (PMI) toàn cầu ghi nhận mức thấp nhất (49,4) trong hai năm. Điều này đồng nghĩa với việc các đơn đặt hàng mới thấp, báo hiệu hoạt động sản xuất công nghiệp và nhu cầu thép sẽ giảm trong thời gian tới.

Ngành ô tô (lĩnh vực thường chiếm khoảng 10 - 15% nhu cầu thép toàn cầu) vẫn đang phải đối mặt với sự gián đoạn chuỗi cung ứng do hậu quả của cuộc xung đột Nga - Ukraine và sự bùng phát trở lại của COVID-19 tại Trung Quốc.

Kết quả là doanh số bán ô tô toàn cầu trong năm 2022 cũng đang thấp hơn đáng kể so với mức trung bình của giai đoạn 2013 - 2019.

Ngoài ra, triển vọng tăng trưởng kinh tế toàn cầu suy yếu cũng khiến giá bán thép giảm rõ rệt ở hầu hết các thị trường, đặc biệt là các sản phẩm thép dẹt như thép cuộn cán nóng (HRC (HM:HRC)).
