Giá vàng tăng hơn 3% vào ngày thứ Sáu (04/11) nhờ đồng USD giảm sau khi dữ liệu cho thấy tỷ lệ thất nghiệp tại Mỹ tăng trong tháng 10, qua đó làm tăng lạc quan rằng Cục Dự trữ Liên bang Mỹ (Fed) sẽ bớt quyết liệt hơn trong việc nâng lãi suất trong tương lai.

Nền kinh tế Mỹ đào tạo ra nhiều việc làm hơn dự báo trong tháng 10, tuy nhiên, đà tăng của tỷ lệ thất nghiệp lên 3.7% cho thấy một số điều kiện thị trường lao động suy yếu.

Jim Wyckoff, Chuyên gia phân tích cấp cao tại Kitco Metals, nhận định: “Báo cáo việc làm của Mỹ đã chạm đúng điểm mà thị trường đang muốn thấy và điều đó cho phép giá vàng khởi sắc”.

Kết thúc phiên giao dịch ngày thứ Sáu, hợp đồng vàng giao ngay tiến gần 3.19% lên 1,684.90 USD/oz. Hợp đồng này đã tăng gần 2.2% trong tuần qua, đánh dấu tuần tăng mạnh nhất kể từ cuối tháng 7/2022.

Hợp đồng vàng tương lai cộng 3.3% lên 1,684.70 USD/oz.

Sau dữ liệu việc làm, chỉ số đồng USD lùi 1.6%, làm vàng trở nên hấp dẫn hơn đối với những người mua nước ngoài.

Ngân hàng trung ương Mỹ vào ngày thứ Tư (02/11) đã nâng lãi suất thêm 75 điểm cơ bản, tuy nhiên báo hiệu họ sẽ sớm thu hẹp chu kỳ nâng lãi suất mạnh của mình vì cho phép thời gian để nền kinh tế hấp thụ chính sách thắt chặt tiền tệ nhanh nhất trong 40 năm.

Các nhà hoạch định chính sách của Fed vào ngày thứ Sáu đã chỉ ra rằng họ vẫn xem xét nâng lãi suất với mức thấp hơn tại cuộc họp chính sách tiếp theo.

Vàng được xem là một kênh phòng ngừa lạm phát, tuy nhiên, lãi suất cao đã làm giảm sức hấp dẫn của kim loại không đem lại lợi suất.
