UAE’s First Hospital in the Metaverse to Open in October

• UAE’s first hospital in the metaverse will be established by the Thumbay Group.

An official of a higher rank said on Wednesday that the United Arab Emirates‘ first hospital in the metaverse would be opened by the Thumbay Group, which provides healthcare services.

They have already begun working on it and anticipate having it ready for release by October this year. According to Dr. Thumbay Moideen, founder and president of Thumbay Group, this will be a fully functional virtual hospital wherein patients would visit using avatars to interact with physicians.

To cater to the growing medical tourism industry, Moideen revealed they would provide patients the opportunity to see the hospital as it appears in the metaverse if they visit Thumbay healthcare.

The Thumbay Group is bringing augmented reality and virtual reality technologies to long-term care patients who have been hospitalized for at least six months and are bedridden or paralyzed.

Patients are being provided with AR and VR headsets by the hospital so that they may see their houses. As an example, Thumbay mentioned a Sri Lankan national who has been staying with them for a considerable amount of time despite being paralyzed caused by a vehicle accident. Although the man’s sensory movements have ceased, his brain is still active.

Back in January, the world’s first customer service center in the Metaverse was launched in Dubai by the Ministry of Health and Protection (MOHAP).

This center is designed to cater to customers’ requirements in three-dimensional spaces in an effortless manner. All the while providing them with a digitally immersive and interactive sensory experience.

Patients have the option to quickly leap into the world of MetaHealth and chat with a genuine person from the customer satisfaction center in an experience that they really must try.
