AiVIF.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Media and Construction sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer & Cyclical, Technology and Software sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.32%, while the MDAX index fell 0.46%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.01%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p), which rose 4.26% or 19.000 points to trade at 465.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) added 1.96% or 1.28 points to end at 66.52 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was up 1.49% or 2.80 points to 191.05 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p), which fell 11.01% or 8.67 points to trade at 70.05 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) declined 3.79% or 2.50 points to end at 63.46 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 3.58% or 1.300 points to 35.000.

The top performers on the MDAX were Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which rose 3.29% to 66.000, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was up 2.96% to settle at 79.320 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which gained 2.90% to close at 63.90.

The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was down 3.77% to 8.836 in late trade, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which lost 3.61% to settle at 6.791 and Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which was down 3.50% to 93.200 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which rose 4.26% to 465.500, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was up 2.96% to settle at 79.320 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which gained 1.98% to close at 52.560.

The worst performers were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was down 3.58% to 35.000 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which lost 2.67% to settle at 30.600 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 2.47% to 112.750 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 484 to 208 and 82 ended unchanged.

Shares in Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.79% or 2.50 to 63.46. Shares in Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.47% or 2.850 to 112.750.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 5.70% to 27.65.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.41% or 7.30 to $1785.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.65% or 0.56 to hit $87.17 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.79% or 0.70 to trade at $88.87 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1154, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8329.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 97.195.
