AiVIF.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Retail, Technology and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.93%, while the MDAX index lost 0.79%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.68%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which rose 3.00% or 1.53 points to trade at 52.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) added 2.72% or 2.18 points to end at 82.34 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was up 2.11% or 1.220 points to 58.960 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 6.14% or 5.14 points to trade at 78.52 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) declined 4.82% or 23.100 points to end at 456.000 and Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) was down 3.72% or 5.64 points to 145.86.

The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which rose 7.33% to 152.30, Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which was up 3.00% to settle at 92.000 and Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which gained 2.19% to close at 90.50.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 5.85% to 12.15 in late trade, Hypoport AG (DE:HYQGn) which lost 4.91% to settle at 445.000 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 4.32% to 35.230 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which rose 2.11% to 33.800, Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was up 1.95% to settle at 24.060 and 11 AG (DE:1U1) which gained 0.75% to close at 24.260.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 5.85% to 12.15 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which lost 5.57% to settle at 29.660 and Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which was down 5.26% to 32.40 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 462 to 237 and 81 ended unchanged.

Shares in Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.14% or 5.14 to 78.52. Shares in Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) rose to 3-years highs; rising 1.95% or 0.460 to 24.060. Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 5.57% or 1.750 to 29.660.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 10.06% to 19.48.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.27% or 4.85 to $1816.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.05% or 1.68 to hit $83.80 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.69% or 1.43 to trade at $85.90 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1407, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8350.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 95.205.
