The NFT world has been blowing hot with the large engagement in recent times. Some of the world’s most famous people, including celebrities and sports stars, have joined the NFT frenzy by auctioning their digital artifacts. Dabboo Ratnani, Yuvraj Singh, Big B, and Rajnikanth have already made the list, but the trend appears to have also impacted Indian team captain Rohit Sharma who has decided to jump on the train.

On FanCraze, the Indian cricketer will introduce his own NFTs. Faze Technologies, the platform’s parent firm, has made the announcement. “This is a great opportunity for me to share some of the finest moments of my career with my fans. I can not wait to see what FanCraze has in store for us in the months to come, including NFTs and avatars like HitMan,” the cricketer is quoted.

In the NFT collectibles list, cricket memorabilia from some of the cricketer’s “daddy hundreds” (scores of 150 or more) as well as the ICC Golden Bat from the 2019 ICC World Cup are expected to be included. In a statement, FanCraze CEO Anshum Bhambri stated,

“We consider elite athletes as artists who produce their finest work on the field of play. With Rohit Sharma, a true cricketing genius, as a partner, we are looking forward to creating a new model of athlete-fan connection.”
Reports claim that the digital platform has agreed to an agreement with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the three-year use of the ICC’s collection of video and audio materials dating back to 1975. As a result, according to reports, cricket fans will soon have the opportunity to purchase and sell NFTs tied to particular clips on the secondary market. In addition, reports claim each NFT will include meta-data encoded presumably connected to the number of runs or wickets a player in the footage has scored.
